A WARM WELCOME TO THE SILVRETTA!

The Jamtal Hut - one of the biggest and most modern Alpine Association huts - is located at the head of Jamtal Valley at 2,165 m, south of Galtür and serves as the Alpine training centre of the German Alpine Club. Countless summits of the blue Silvretta are waiting for mountaineers, but the approach can be easily managed also by non-mountaineers and is very scenic. The history-charged hut with its two seminar rooms not only offers perfect conditions for advanced alpine training, but with the gastronomic options of the Culinary St. James Trail also delicious treats for gourmets. At the Jamtal Hut, hikers, alpinists, mountain bikers, climbers and families meet up because hardly anywhere else will you find such a wide range of options for sportspeople as here.

The landlords bid you a warm welcome!

Gottlieb Lorenz the fourth:
After Lorenz the third, his son, Gottlieb Lorenz the fourth took over as landlord of the Jamtal Hut in 1995. The son of Franz Lorenz, whose name is Gottlieb just like his great-grandfather, continues the exemplary management of Jamtal Hut in the fourth generation. Even if much has changed in the course of time at the mountain huts of the Alps, at Gottlieb on the Jam the inherent calmness and care of the previous landlords has remained.
