The Jamtalhütte is surrounded by the highest peaks of the Silvretta, such as the Fluchthorn, Augstenberg, Jamspitzen and Dreiländerspitze, to name just four of the 44 two- and three-thousand metre peaks. They form the peaks of a crowning landscape in the centre of which the hut is located.

This area is also known as the ‘Blue Silvretta’ due to the large glacier areas. As the side valleys lead to the hut in a star shape, the Jamtalhütte offers hiking opportunities in a variety of difficulty levels.

The area is also an ideal hiking area for families with children. Special attention is drawn to the practice possibilities of the climbing gardens in the vicinity of the hut, on the western Gamshorn, as well as the via ferrata on the Pfannknecht.
